At the Drew League Week 5, undefeated LA Loop played against MHP where a former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas plays for. The game itself was so close throughout the game, but Arenas made 3-pointer in the important situation and he and MHP stopped the LA Loop’s winning streak since the begging of this season.
In the first 5 minutes of the first quarter, both LA Loop and MHP couldn’t get the initiative of the game, and the game was going as a low-score game. But, LA Loop scored with Billy Knight’s bonus throws and, and ended up the first quarter with the tie score of 17-17.
In the second quarter, LA Loop couldn’t score points. This is one of the problems of LA Loop throughout this season. We always cannot control the game and let opponents lead the game in the second quarter. in the today’s game, we couldn’t pass the ball well and tended to do more 1-on-1s. Because of these monotonous attacks, LA Loop allowed MHP to lead the game. But, LA Loop followed MHP by Vince Camper’s 3-pointers and post-up plays and finished the first half in 4 points behind with the score of 33-17.
In the beginning of the third quarter, LA Loop tied MHP with the 2 consecutive scores. But, MHP didn’t allow LA Loop to lead the game. This quarter went as a seesaw game. LA Loop ended this quarter with the score of 53-58.
In the last quarter, LA Loop finally turn the tables of MHP. On the other hand, Gilbert Arenas got more fouls that came from his experience, and he made his free throws. In the last minutes of the game, a former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas made the winning 3-pointer. LA Loop finally lost a game in this season.
The reason of this loss was that we couldn’t make team offense. We didn’t pass the ball at all. Also, we didn’t defense as hard as the previous games. From this loss, we realized our internal problems. So, we will fix those problems by the next week game and win more games!
